Melati Malam
A Javanese veranda at nine at night.
White floral, warm
The story
Jasmine sambac is picked in Pemalang before dawn, when the buds smell strongest, and extracted the same day. We pair it with tuberose, a flower that only opens once the sun has set.
A trace of benzoin gives both a shadow. Not the sweet, soapy jasmine, but the one you smell on a veranda after the lights are off.
When to wear it Weddings, dinners, a kebaya.
